WAGO Marking
For a Clean and Organized Control Panel Appearance
Marking systems used in control panels play a critical role in proper identification and safety. In addition to supporting user safety, they help reduce risks during installation and ensure that necessary information is quickly accessible during maintenance. The ability to identify connections rapidly and allow third-party service providers to intervene easily makes marking an essential part of control panels.
WAGO provides a complete marking system designed to meet these needs. WAGO Smart Script, WAGO Smart Printer and dedicated marking materials are developed to work together, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
Labels can be created via an existing CAE system, through WAGO Smart Script or by using WAGO Smart Designer. These three methods provide a flexible marking process that can be adapted to different requirements.
A) Manual and Automated Label Creation Methods
Labels can be generated using circuit diagrams as a data source
Labels can be created using data imported from Excel
Marking processes can be managed through data transfer via interfaces
Labels can be printed directly via WAGO Smart Designer
WAGO Smart Script Marking Software
When used together with the marking printer, WAGO Smart Script provides an integrated solution for designing and printing customized marking applications. Terminal blocks, labels, nameplates and cable markers, as well as marking for junction boxes and control panels, can be produced efficiently and cost-effectively.
Your Advantages
- Modern design with intuitive workflow
- Integrated printer drivers and predefined printer settings for faster operation
- Wide range of marking materials including templates
- Fully compatible with WAGO Smart Printer
- Optimized interfaces for EPLAN P8, Microsoft Excel and CSV data formats

After creating the schematic diagram, data must be transferred from the planning software to the printer. With CAE interfaces available for EPLAN, WSCAD and ZUKEN, this transfer can be fully automated. Alternatively, data can be prepared independently and imported into WAGO Smart Script via Excel.

Thanks to customizable formatting options, nameplates with barcodes or multi-line terminal labels can be created.
• Available elements include barcodes, text fields, images and symbols
• Font size and alignment settings can be adjusted
• Project properties such as orientation, cut marks and material data can be defined

Project Management
WAGO Smart Script supports structured management of marking projects:
• Project structures from File Explorer can be copied
• Access to multiple drives is supported
• Projects can be quickly located using search, filtering or favorites

Printing Tasks
WAGO Smart Script provides the following advantages during printing:
• Multiple printers can be managed simultaneously, including updates, network or USB connections and renaming
• Print settings can be customized based on the material used
• Printer availability status can be monitored before starting the print job
B) Editing and Printing
- Labels can be edited within WAGO Smart Script and printed later
- Printing is completed using the WAGO Smart Printer

Marking Media
Everything on a Single Roll
WAGO offers marking materials suitable for all applications, from terminal blocks and cables to devices and control panels. When used together with WAGO Smart Printer and WAGO Smart Script, these materials can be printed quickly and easily.
Providing materials on a single roll accelerates installation processes. Products such as TOPJOB S strips (2009-110) can also be used individually when required. The strips are fixed at the starting point and pulled across the surface, eliminating the need to place each marker separately.
Order-based marking and efficient material usage help reduce waste. Depending on the application, conductor and device markers are available in white, red, yellow, blue and green color options.
Terminal Block Marking
- Multi-line marking strips enable clearer and more detailed identification within control panels
- WMB Inline markers on rolls adapt to different terminal block sizes, allowing a single marker size to be used for standard applications
Cable and Conductor Marking
- Options include marking sleeves, self-laminating labels, snap-on conductor markers and heat shrink tubing
- Various marking surface sizes are available for different applications
Device Marking
- Printable fabric labels, push button markers and nameplates improve efficiency in device and control panel marking
- Labels and markers are available in various sizes and colors
